Introduction to DanceSport Competition

For those wanting to take their first step into the world of DanceSport competition, this class provides an opportunity to compete. The class is part of a 10 week course that will teach you the fundamentals of DanceSport competition, provide an opportunity to partner up & develop some competitive routines, and culminate in the entry to a DanceSport Australia championship. You will learn: - DSA approved syllabus choreography & competitive routines for all 3 styles - Foundations of floorcraft (including how to lead & follow) - DanceSport rules & requirements - How the judging system works & what adjudicators are looking for Learn from seasoned competitors and qualified coaches & adjudicators. Don't miss this opportunity to work with the best in the business & start your competitive journey in the best way possible. This course will commence on the 12th of February, and will conclude on the 16th of April. Students will then have the opportunity to compete in the Great Western Championship held that Sunday on the 19th of April. In order to compete in the Great Western Championship students must register with DanceSport Australia and enter into the competition prior March 31; we are pleased to advise that as a part of this course DanceSport Western Australia have kindly agreed to sponsor the first year registration of the first three couples to register from The Regent Ballroom. Entry fees to The ADS Great Western will still apply. Partners are recommended but not required. You are most welcome to enrol without a partner and we will make every effort to partner you up with another student. This course is for competitions competing in recreational division, not coach/student events. We look forward to welcoming you on your first step into the exciting world of DanceSport!
